The conference Museums, Music, and Audiences: Towards Inclusive and Data-Informed Cultural Practice
is organized in partnership with the Faculty of Media and Communications (FMK),
which will serve as a primary host, alongside the Museum of Science and Technology
Belgrade and the Ethnographic Museum Belgrade. This two-day international event aims
to create a platform for scientific dialogue among European experts in the fields of
music, ethnomusicology, psychology, museology, communication, cultural studies, and
disciplines to explore contemporary practices in museums related to music and sound,
their effect on audiences, and the role of empirical data in shaping cultural strategies.
During the conference, the EUROMUSE project results will be showcased, highlighting
both its artistic creativity and scientific-research contributions.
The conference welcomes theoretical, empirical, and practice-based contributions exploring the role of sound and music in museum and exhibition contexts, as well as their broader applications and effects across diverse cultural, social, and experiential settings. We invite completed and ongoing research, critical reviews, and innovative or experimental approaches, including interdisciplinary and practice-oriented work. Contributions may advance theoretical understanding, provide empirical insights, or reflect on applied research and creative practices related to perception, experience, and well-being.
