As part of the EUROMUSE project, composers Arianna Ferrara Gennari and Jorge Ramos recently completed a seven-day residency at the Kotsanas Museum of Ancient Greek Technology in Athens. This unique opportunity allowed the composers to immerse themselves in the museum’s fascinating exhibits, which showcase the ingenuity and creativity of ancient Greek inventors.

Throughout their residency, Arianna and Jorge engaged with museum staff and visitors, gaining valuable insights into the stories and innovations behind the artifacts on display. Drawing inspiration from the museum’s collection and the vibrant city of Athens, they began developing immersive sound compositions that reflect both the spirit of ancient Greek technology and the possibilities of contemporary music.

This residency exemplifies EUROMUSE’s mission to bridge the gap between Europe’s rich cultural heritage and modern artistic expression. By bringing contemporary sound creation into dialogue with historical spaces, EUROMUSE aims to enhance the museum experience for all visitors and foster new forms of engagement.

Stay tuned for more updates as EUROMUSE composers continue their creative journeys across Europe!
